My friend’s younger brother Binny was excited to be promoted to the Manager position recently in his company; however, his tone was different when he called me and said, “๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฎ๐บ ๐ต๐ฆ๐ข๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ’๐ด ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฏ, ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ ๐จ๐ข๐ท๐ฆ ๐ฉ๐ช๐ฎ a ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด๐ต ๐ง๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฃ๐ข๐ค๐ฌ, ๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฅ๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐บ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ ๐ข๐ต ๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฐ๐ฏ’๐ต ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ ๐ข ๐ต๐ฆ๐ข๐ฎ!”

Since this was not just one incident, it triggered a thought in my mind to talk about one practical ‘Coaching trait that a Manager can use’ each weekend. And today, I want to talk about the simplest but one of the most ignored ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ถ๐ ‘๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด’.
The pressure to meet deadlines, and tackle problems can impede effective listening for a manager. So, the first step is making a choice to listen โ to intentionally set aside workplace pressures by choosing to be present so you can listen. ๐ฆ๐๐ผ๐ฝ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ผ๐’๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฝ๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ. ๐๐ป๐ฑ ๐น๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ.
